Teutonic Castle in Człuchów
The Teutonic Castle, located in Człuchów, is the Order’s second largest castle after Malbork. It was the most difficult to conquer in Pomerania, serving as the seat of the Teutonic Knights’ commander and convent. Ulrich von Jungingen and Konrad von Wallenrode resided there. Currently, the castle houses a Regional Museum with permanent and temporary exhibitions, as well as a library. The events and historical reenactments held there are extremely popular with locals and visitors alike. The castle is surrounded by a beautiful English park – Luiza Wood.
Water ski lift in Szczecinek
One of the longest ski lifts in Europe, located on Lake Trzesiecko. Situated in the city center and surrounded by a historic municipal park rich in greenery, it is visited by water skiers and wakeboarders not only for its sporting attractions but also for its unique atmosphere. The park stretches along the entire lake, featuring numerous squares and active recreation areas. For romantics and rose lovers, there’s a rose garden. In addition to water sports equipment rentals, the city also offers city bikes.
Przytoń Nature Reserve
One of the youngest landscape nature reserves in our area, it’s also particularly appreciated by tourists. Here, covering an area of 20 hectares, lies a vast forest of beautiful beech trees growing on the escarpment of the Brda River. Most tourists admire the reserve’s charms from kayaks. The highest attractions lie in the upper part of the forest – the impressive beech and pine trees, over 200 years old. The enormous tree trunks, which are dying, are untouched by humans. It is on these trunks that new trees grow, various fungi thrive, and animals dependent on the decaying plants thrive. In addition to the natural beauty, the area also boasts aesthetic values that will be unforgettable for city dwellers.
Mouse Island in Szczecinek
Mouse Island in Szczecinek is a picturesque peninsula accessible both by land (car or bike – excellent bike paths) and by water – by water tram, bike, or kayak. The pre-war resort was known for its outdoor parties and balls, which could accommodate as many as 1,200 guests at a time. One of the most picturesque spots in Szczecinek – a place of peace and quiet, where ducks and swans stroll among the tourists.
ZOO Canpol
A 4,870-square-meter forest zoo nestled in landscaped areas designed to accommodate natural animal life. The zoo is home to 39 species of animals and approximately 100 inhabitants, with the most valuable species being the Siberian tiger, pygmy hippopotamus, red kangaroo, African ostrich, and Chapman’s zebra. Canpol also offers Eurobungee, a go-kart track, and a paddle boat – water fun for children.
Insect Park in Lubnica
Can you hide under an ant? Or perhaps cuddle up to a bee? Now it’s possible. We invite you to the unique Insect Park in Lubnica. In the park, you can encounter realistic models of insects, created at gigantic magnification. These sculptures are crafted with precision and attention to their morphological structure. These gigantic sculptures allow us to better understand the anatomy of these individuals. A walk along the educational and nature trail is excellent educational material for all ages and a wonderful biology lesson. Only here will you encounter a giant fly, a grasshopper, or a spider. The exhibits are enriched by an exhibition of live insects from various corners of the globe.
